  1. My grandparents came from Hungary to Pittsburgh in the early 1920s. My mom was born at McGees (?) Women’s Hospital in Pittsburgh. I was born in New Castle but then moved to Pittsburgh. My mom and I had the same principle at Colfax – Dr. Pregler or Preglar. Not sure of spelling. Love love love Pittsburgh. Have some things I scanned that I would like to submit about my grandfather’s famous restaurant on Grant Street, across from City Hall. Is that possible?

I was born, raised and lived in the Burgh most of my life. In 1997, at the age of 48, I married and moved to Midland, TX. Living in the desert of west TX for 15 years is so different from home. After all these years I still miss Pittsburgh. Once a Pittsburgher; always a Pittsburgher!

  4. I was born at St. Francis (now UPMC children’s) and my parents lives in Shaler off of route 8. We moved to Greensburg when I was 4. I went to Greater Latrobe them Kent State. After college, I moved back to Pittsburgh, lived with my grandparents in the north hills before getting my own place in shadyside. I lived in the Frontenac at highland and Howe before I bought a condo in the Highwood just two blocks south. I worked at a PR firm, Yearick Millea, on the north side in a rehabbed cotton mill before going to McKesson Automation on washington’s Landing. They put me into sales and them transferred me to Atlanta, where I met my wife. We now live on the Gulf Coast of Alabama. Fairhope. AL. I love it here, but will always, always be from Pittsburgh.
